Telephone Helpline

To speak directly to an accredited LLL Leader call our telephone Helpline 0845 120 2918.

Leaders taking Helpline calls are mothers themselves, answering the phone as volunteers in their own homes. They have breastfed their own children and will listen to your questions, offering practical suggestions and warm support. They have the most up-to-date breastfeeding information available and can pass on the wealth of experience of other breastfeeding mothers, to help you find answers and make the decisions that are right for you and your baby.

Our Leaders are mothers too

Because Leaders are mothers too, they may not immediately be available to answer the phone, perhaps being busy with family life: changing a nappy, picking up children from school, out shopping or at work. The Helpline will automatically move onto the next Leader on the list after several rings if the phone isn't answered, or a Leader’s answerphone may suggest you redial the Helpline number, so patience may be needed. Occasionally there is no one available to take your call, but you can try again later. Or you could browse our Mother-to-mother forums in case your question has already been discussed there.

Whilst our Helpline operates in the evening and weekends it can be disruptive to family life if the phone rings late at night or early in the morning! We ask for your help in avoiding those times unless your problem is really urgent.

Although these aspects of our Helpline service may cause occasional inconvenience, our volunteer Leaders are experienced breastfeeding mothers, caring for their families and enthusiastic about offering practical help, information and support to others.
