“Very good and supportive environment, good experience from other mums, good book library”
“A good way to meet other breastfeeding mums, even if your baby is older than a newborn”
“Informative and supportive”
“Come – it’s a friendly, informative group”
Welcome to La Leche League Hertfordshire!
We usually run three monthly meetings (except during school holidays) roughly as follows:
- 1st Saturday of the month from 10.30am to 12.00pm – usually in person at Windmill Family Centre, 70 Broadfield Rd, Adeyfield, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 4DW
- 2nd or 3rd Monday of the month from 7pm to 8.30pm – on zoom
- 4th Friday of the month from 10am to 12pm – usually in person at Fleetville Family Centre, St Albans, AL1 4QL
See our La Leche League Hertfordshire Facebook page for more info.
Anyone who is pregnant or interested in breastfeeding is very welcome to join us, whatever age and stage you’re at, from bump to weaning. Come to ask questions, share your experiences or just hang out with other breastfeeding mums. You don’t have to have a problem to attend.
We have access to lots of other resources to inform and encourage breastfeeding parents. There is usually a discussion topic at each meeting, but there is always lots of time for everyone to share their ‘burning issues’ with the group for support and ideas.
Please email email@example.com for personal support from a local leader, and ‘Like’ the @lllhertfordshire Facebook page to keep in touch and for regular postings and breastfeeding tips.
Next meeting dates:
Information about Fleetville (St Albans venue) – We suggest parking at Morrisons (free for three hours) because street parking is restricted near the Family Centre. The Family Centre is located opposite 26 Woodstock Road South, at the back of Fleetville Infant and Nursery School. Our room is upstairs, so we suggest using a sling or carrying your little one if possible, but if you prefer to use a push chair or buggy, we will help you find somewhere to store it. We may have to ask you to collapse it. Oddly, the Family Centre does not have baby changing facilities, so please bring your own mat, and take dirty nappies home.
Information about Windmill (Hemel venue) – Please note that Windmill Family Centre is located at 70 Broadfield Rd and not Windmill Rd. Look for the usual pink sign of Family Centres opposite to 68 Broadfield Rd. There is plenty of parking as it is a residential area and also parking in the Family Centre, we will need to give you access through the gate. Please ring the bell.
